Today, you will meet local car guy Mike Both from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.  Yes…there is a town near Carlisle that was originally named for many of its residents being car mechanics.  Truth --  check it out!  

Anyhow…back to this week’s episode:   Do you remember riding in the back of a convertible, cruising with your parents or friends?  Well, within this episode, you’ll learn how Mike has made great memories with his kids as they cruise with “Dad” in the family’s 1966 Dodge Polara 500 convertible.  And, you’ll learn about his former 383 cubic inch Barracuda and even a workhorse VW Rabbit Diesel that was his first ride.

Visiting from Manchester, John describes his years of attending Carlisle Events shows, working on his family’s  ’58 Plymouths with his dad, and showcasing his incredible project work behind the one-of-a-kind “Forward Look” exhibit of  ‘Atomic Era’  Imperials and Plymouths.

Today, you get the chance to learn more about one of the coolest places west of England for Rolls-Royce and Bentley fans. 

Cars of Carlisle heads to Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania to meet with Mark Lizewskie , the Executive Director for both the Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club, as well as the Rolls-Royce Foundation.  While there, Mark showed Darren around their facilities brimming with beautiful examples of these two elegant and regal British brands.

This week, Darren and Scott explore just one of many local museums/businesses that preserve history, educate the public and foster interest in automotive and transportation information. They spent this past Saturday as guests at the America on Wheels Museum on Front Street in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Executive Director, Linda Merkel and volunteer guides like Gary Peters share their wealth and knowledge and time with museum visitors.  The Cars of Carlisle crew witnessed firsthand the amount of care the museum team has for people as well as all things with wheels.

Auto Mania:   Car Parts...Memorabilia...Tools...and Literature -- Oh, My!  

  

This past Saturday, Darren and Scott braved the imposing winter weather advisory and headed East Northeast to Allentown, Pennsylvania to the Agricultural Expo Center. 

 

While there, the C/of/C team walked the aisles of the 59,000 sq. ft. facility, combed the parts bins, grabbed automotive literature, took pictures of unique items, and made new friends along the way.
